Why the recipe is missing
If you have Animal Hide but cannot see Leather at the Workbench, find and pick up Leather before trying again. NPC Tips' demo guide describes the first supply in a small sewer chest alongside a Bone Club; check nearby chests if the contents differ in your run.
Once you have picked it up, return to a Workbench. You can use the bench already in the dungeon rather than building a new one first.
Turn two Hides into one Leather
- Catch Rats and process them into Raw Meat in hand crafting. Each processed Rat also gives 1 Animal Hide.
- Bring 2 Animal Hide to a Workbench.
- Choose the unlocked Leather recipe to make 1 Leather.

Share the unlock and budget your Leather
In co-op, pass a piece of Leather to each player who needs the recipe, or give the Hide to a player who can already craft it. Picking up the Leather matters for each player's menu.
A Pouch takes 2 Leather and 2 Vines and adds 3 inventory slots. A new Workbench takes 1 Leather alongside Planks and Iron Rods. Choose your next project before spending your first supply.
