Pouch: a known three-slot increase

Use a Workbench with 2 Leather and 2 Vines to make the Pouch. Its inventory benefit is 3 extra slots.

If the Leather recipe is your bottleneck, pick up Leather first, then make more from Animal Hide. The dungeon's existing Workbench can handle that step; you do not have to spend Leather building another bench first.

Backpack: different materials and a weight warning

The hand-crafting recipe uses:

  • 1 Leather
  • 2 Ragged Cloth
  • 1 Rope

The item reference describes the Backpack as providing extra inventory slots but being very heavy. Treat that as a carrying trade-off, rather than assuming it gives the same three-slot benefit as the Pouch.

For its Rope ingredient, use 2 Vines and 1 Stick.

Choose around your next expedition

Start with the Pouch when you want a known capacity increase and can spare its Leather and Vines. Consider the Backpack when you have its different material set and want another carrying option, keeping its heavy description in mind.

More slots do not choose your loadout for you. Pack the key or tool needed for the next blocker, food and light before using the remaining space for spare materials. The inventory checklist helps organize that trip.
