An explorer’s field guide
Deep Dish Dungeon guides
Start your demo, get past a dungeon blocker, or prepare the supplies for your next outing. Pick the task in front of you.

Find your next step
Choose a starting task, a blocked passage, or the supplies you need at camp.
Getting started
Open the first door, plan a party, save your progress and learn to recognize your way back.
The first full-stomach door
The first Deep Dish Dungeon demo door needs a full stomach, not a key. Prepare food, eat, and try the door again before searching for a lock solution.
Demo saves & progress
The demo supports saving and loading, but its saves do not carry into the full game. Plan a break, resume your run and understand the demo's limits.
Co-op teams & joining
Play solo or with two friends, rotate a larger group through one save, share tools and check demo lobby errors before heading into the dungeon.
Navigation & returning to camp
Use room landmarks, lighting and height changes to handle forks, recognize shortcuts and retrace your route to camp in Deep Dish Dungeon.
Dungeon blockers
Match a blocked passage to the key, tool or action that gets you moving.
Sewer pipes and the Hammer
Follow the dated demo route through raised sewer water and low pipe passages toward the Hammer, then use the Hammer—not a War Hammer—to clear metal bars.
Cast the Iron Key
Prepare the key mold, 5 Coal and 10 Scrap Metal for the Deep Dish Dungeon demo's Big Smelter. Learn which lock the Iron Key leads to next.
Prison Key and the webbed door
Use the Prison Key on the Prison Door, hit blocking webs with a Torch, and understand the demo ending. Includes the key's place in the Iron Key chain.
Bars, webs and key locks
Use the Hammer for metal bars, a Torch for prison webs, and the matching named key for locks. Avoid confusing barred doors with breakable barriers.
Camp, crafting & supplies
Choose a preparation task, then find the exact material, tool or station recipe for it.
Camp crafting and the Workbench
Use new materials and the right station in the Deep Dish Dungeon demo. Read Workbench inputs and outputs to decide what to gather and make next.
Cooking and food care
Manage rotisserie burning, v1013 food spoilage, Food Baskets and bat or scorpion carcasses so your next Deep Dish Dungeon demo trip starts with usable food.
Inventory and camp organization
Organize limited carrying space around keys, route tools, light and food. Use physical camp items without confusing ordinary storage with food preservation.
Leather: unlock and make more
Missing the Leather recipe? Pick up Leather to unlock it, then turn 2 Animal Hide into 1 Leather at a Workbench in the Deep Dish Dungeon demo.
Rats & Animal Hide
Put your Torch away and sneak up on Rats, or use a Rat Trap. Process each Rat into Raw Meat to get the Animal Hide used for Leather.
Clay and the demo boundary
Clay, Pickaxe and Axe are absent from the Deep Dish Dungeon demo. Skip Clay-based construction and use the existing Big Smelter for the Iron Key.
Make Rope from Vines and a Stick
Craft Rope with 2 Vines and 1 Stick. Budget it for the Backpack or combine it with a Hook at a Workbench to make a Grappling Hook.
Make a Torch for light and clearing webs
Make a Torch from 2 Sticks or 2 Bones. Use it on the prison-approach webs, and put it away before trying to sneak up on Rats.
Pouch vs Backpack
A Pouch adds 3 inventory slots for 2 Leather and 2 Vines. Compare its Workbench recipe with the Backpack's Leather, Cloth and Rope requirements.
Food Basket & freshness
Make a Food Basket with 3 Vines. Demo v1013 keeps food fresh for at least an hour in the basket, compared with usual one-at-a-time spoilage.
Build a Workbench or use the one in the dungeon
A Workbench costs 3 Wood Planks, 2 Iron Rods and 1 Leather. Use it for Leather, Pouch and Grappling Hook recipes, or work at an existing bench.
Turn an Iron Pot and Iron Rods into a Cooking Pot
The Cooking Pot recipe uses 1 Iron Pot and 3 Iron Rods. Distinguish the ingredient from the finished broth-and-soup station in Deep Dish Dungeon.
Build the Rotisserie over a Bonfire
Make a Rotisserie with 2 Sticks and 2 Wood Planks, build it over a Bonfire, and stay nearby so your prepared food does not burn.
Use a Cooking Table for meal preparation
The Cooking Table recipe uses 2 Wood Planks and 1 Leather. Learn its role in v1013 carcass processing and why Rat processing is a different step.
Grappling Hook components
The Grappling Hook uses 1 Hook and 1 Rope at a Workbench. Separate the Hook component, the Rope recipe and the finished traversal tool.
